BIRD & GUN INTRODUCTION
Introductory Gun Dog Tools
Ages: 4 Months and up
Duration: 3 Weeks
Prerequisites: None
​Our puppy bird and gun introduction program is 4 weeks long. This program is where we set the stage for your dog's future. Gun intro can be a sensitive topic for young pups and if done improperly can create hurdles that are hard to overcome (gun shyness). Throughout the duration of the program, we also want to bring out as much bird desire in your pup as possible. Your pup will start on dead birds, then move on to clipped wing birds and finally onto live game. We will work at your dog's pace, as to not promote the fear of any of these obstacles. By the end of the program your dogs should be comfortable picking up live birds and having a gun shot over them.
